Malabrigo Silky Merino
Malabrigo Silky Merino is one of those yarns that quietly turns simple stitches into something elegant. The blend of silk and merino gives it soft drape, gentle sheen, and rich hand-dyed color that looks beautiful in lightweight garments and accessories.
- What does Silky Merino feel like? Soft and cool in the hand with a fluid drape. The silk adds a subtle shine while the merino keeps it warm and comfortable.
- Is it good for garments? Yes. It works especially well for sweaters, wraps, and tops where you want movement instead of a stiff fabric. Due to its drape, shorter, verses longer garments are better.
- Does it show stitch patterns well? Very nicely. Lace, simple texture, and stockinette all look polished without trying too hard.
- Is every skein identical? No. Malabrigo hand-dyes their yarns, so color variation is part of the charm. Alternating skeins in larger projects is recommended.
- What kinds of projects suit it best? Think flowing shawls, refined cardigans, soft scarves, and projects that deserve a little extra glow without becoming flashy.
